Title Determination of Iodine Value for Various Oil Samples
Abstract

Iodine value is valuable criteria for characterizing degree of unsaturation of various oils (especially, vegetable). This criterion is important both for food grade oils, as well as those applied in technique. E. g., the minimum value of iodine value is defined for chain saw chain oil used in logging according to the rules No. 1117 of Latvia Republic`s Cabinet of Ministers. On the other hand, standard EN14214 determine maximum value of the iodine value of biodiesel. A number of directives and Pharmacopoeias determine iodine value as one of the quality criteria for the vegetable oils used in food or medicine.

Description of the technology

We are offering to determine iodine value for the customer`s oil samples according to the method EN14111 (without certificate). This standard specifies a titrimetric method for the determination of iodine value in fatty acid methyl esters. Additionally, we can do optimization of the analysis depending on the properties of the customer`s samples.

Applications Food, cosmetics, medicine, technique and other fields, where vegetable oils or their derivatives are used.
