Abstract

The density is a key fuel property, which directly affects the engine performance characteristics. The density of the fuels affect the start of injection, the injection pressure, and the fuel spray characteristic. Many performance characteristics, such as cetane number and heating value of diesel, are related to the density.

Description of the technology

The density of fuel is determined by using density meter DMA 4500. The temperature range of density meter is from 0 to 90 OC with measurement time 30 seconds. The minimal volume of test fuel sample is 1 ml.
