Abstract

Wind power is one of the most common types of environment-friendly power generation. The efficiency of wind power acquisition also depends on the type of a generator used. Synchronous generators are widely used as source of commercial electrical energy. The synchronous generators convert the mechanical power output of turbines into electrical power for the grid.

Description of the technology

A synchronous wind generator with excitation from permanent magnet and with concentrated armature winding (tooth coil) is proposed. Proposed generator construction instead of well-known is following: number of generator stator teeth is proportional to doubled phase number of the armature winding and for the generator poles is one common divider which is equal to two, besides difference of stator teeth and rotor pole number is equal to two.

The wind generator (Fig. 1) consists of a teeth stator (1) where twelve three-phase winding coils (3) are arranged on twelve teeth (2). Each coil covers one stator tooth. The coil is concentric, single-sided. Ten (5) poles (as an example) placed on the rotor (4), i.e. about two less than a stator tooth. The total number of stator teeth and rotor poles divider should be equal to 2. If there is a large number of phases, for example m = 7, the number of stator teeth may be equal to 14 or 28, so the number of rotor poles should be 12 or 26, respectively.

Applications The proposed solution is applicable to companies that are involved in the development, production and upgrading of wind power generators.
Advantages

A wind generator have significantly reduced teeth braking torque between the stator teeth and the rotor poles, which provides the wind generator starting up at lower wind speed. At the same time winding factor is higher, i.e. increase power density and wind generator installed capacity utilization rate, increase the reliability and lifetime resource.
