Abstract

The degree of damage of historic buildings depends on what kind of the adverse impact factors it has been exposed to. One of the most important causes of damage to historic buildings is increased humidity and water migration. Moisture is a prerequisite for almost all chemical, biogenic and physical processes that causes the collapse of stone materials.

Description of the technology

We offer to determine the compositional, structural, physical and chemical properties of stone and corrosion products by using X-ray, differential thermal, physical and chemical analyses methods. The X-ray diffraction analysis method is suitable for phase identification, quantitative analysis, obtaining detailed information on the crystalline lattice parameters.

Applications The services offered are useful for industries involved in building, construction and restoration work. Laboratory research data is intended for the review of restoration works (restoration passport).

The proposed analysis is performed by highly qualified scientists with the qualification in physicochemical research of cultural-historical objects in the restoration of stone materials.
