Colour Fastness to Artificial Light

Description of the Technology

Xenon arc testing chamber Q-Sun, model Xe-1-B (Q-Lab Corporation, USA) and calibration radiometer, model CR20 (Q-Lab Corporation, USA) are applied for testing. Assessment of colour differences with a spectrophotometer X-Rite Ci7600 (X-Rite, Inc., USA) after colour fastness test is offered.



Applications

For all types of textile materials (natural, man-made or blended filaments, yarns, woven, knit, nonwoven textiles). A method can be applied for testing of other materials (polymers, paper etc.) for evaluation of colour fastness to artificial light.



Advantages

A product subjected outdoors to direct sunlight experiences maximum light intensity for only a few hours each day. The xenon arc testing chamber can expose test specimens to the equivalent of noon summer sunlight for 24 hours a day, every day. Consequently, specimen degradation can be highly accelerated. Testing method is elaborated on the basis of standards LVS EN ISO 105-B02:2014 and LVS EN ISO 105-J03:2010.
