Description of the Technology

The rotation rheometer (User Manual DSR 500 Version No- UK06/2021, Lamy Rheology Instruments) is used for manual or automatic measurement of the change of viscosity and shear stress of liquids (including bitumen and bituminous mixtures) as a funtion of time at various temperatures up to 200 oC. Depending on the selected spindle (MK SV 421 or MK SV 429) 8-13 ml of product is used for the test; rotation speed of the spindle is within range of 0.3-1500rpm.

Applications

A rotational rheometer is used to test rheological properties of liquids (e.g., bitumen and bituminous mixtures) at various testing temperatures and rotation speeds of the spindle.

Advantages

The advantage of using of rotational rheometer is capability to test rheological properties of liquids (including determination of processability of bitumen and bituminous mixtures) at different test temperatures, rotational speed or shear rate, using small product quantities.
