The invention relates to the textile and clothing industry, particularly to the process of making blended fibre smart knitwear. The functional properties of knitwear with integrated wearing electronics are assigned by incorporating yarns, modified via sol-gel method, into the knitting process.
The process of modification of textile yarns includes hydrothermal treatment, drying, storing in a climate chamber, treatment with sol-gel solution, drying, thermal aftertreatment, coating formation and repeated hydrothermal treatment.
The method should be used in the process of knitting textile yarns which are losing functional properties due to elevated temperature, humidity and chemical reagents. Modified textile yarns can be used for knitting knitwear with integrated electroconductive filaments, as well as for any type of other knitwear.
