This invention relates to the field of organic chemistry, particularly to novel method for synthesis of 5-methylidene-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione. The method is intended for synthesis of compounds from meldrum's acid and aldehydes in crude glycerol as reaction media without adding additional catalysts and isolating the product with well known methods.
