The aim of the paper is to summarize knowledge gained and traditionally developed at the Institutions in Latvia. The authors share their experience on benefits gained by Children and Young People with Special Needs and students as a result of these investigations. There are slightly different systems at primary and secondary schools. Schools are expected to use this allocated funding to provide additional support and other resources for children with special needs. „Koledža RRC” is the only college in Latvia where People with Special Needs are provided both with possibilities to study and social, psychological and medical assistance by basing the process of education on qualified lecturers, positive motivation, individual approach and modern technologies. As the most important conclusion drawn in the paper can be considered the usefulness of exchanging experience among the academic staff of allied study programs to improve on professional performance, to perfect knowledge and facilitate cooperation among students, Children and Young People with Special Needs academic staff.
