In this work the 3D surface roughness parameters measurement methodics using contact type measuring devices and forming principles of 3D surface roughness parameters data basis are developed. Investigated methods for the determination of such signifficant 3D surface roughness measuring characteristic as number of data points. Defined 3D surface roughness parameters, contempleated their determination precision problems like dimensions of measuring areas and their number on the surface. The teorethical calculation and experimental measurements of these parameters are done. Deduction of parameters usability for assessment of surface roughness is done. Improved methods of 3D surface roughness parameters determination by using surface splits. Given instructions for 3D surface roughness parameters measuring using contact type measuring devices. Showed data basis example for flat grinded surfaces. The promotion work is written in Latvian language and consists of introduction, 7 chapters, resume, references and appendixes. It is written in 107 pages and contains 39 figures, 35 tables, 3 appendixes and 43 references.
