SCOR (Supply Chain Operation Reference) model is compared to the “Soft” infrastructure for global supply chains [5]. The research paper introduces to fundamental principles of SCOR model. SCOR model application for increasing competitiveness of Latvian logistics and maritime companies are analysed in this research paper. The aim of the work is to estimate the level of usage of SCOR model in Latvia. Is mentioned the fact that the Supply Chain Council (SCC) had awarded the 2010 Award for Supply Chain Operational Excellence to the Northern Distribution Network (NDN) where the port of Riga („Baltic Container Terminal Ltd”) is the anchor of NDN [2, 6].The results of the research paper is proposed to initiate the Latvian Maritime Academy, Riga Technical University and Latvian Supply chain cluster joint cooperation SCOR model training program.
