There are the main requirements for electrical lighting rewieved and the structure of these requirements is given in this article. The main values (illuminance, chromaticity diagram, colour rendering, contrast, luminance, glare etc.) are analysed and ilustrated in details. The main terms are given in English, Russian and German languages. This material is coordinated with European Union Standards and other regulations. There are fifteen illustrations and a bibliography in this article.
