The analysis of various methods of mathematical modeling of noise levels and spectra for
railway transport in comparison with the known RMR (Rekenen Meetvoorschrift Railkverkeerslawaai)
method is carried out in the paper. Experimental investigations are carried out with the Latvian rail
ways taken as an example. The recommendations on the adjustment of the RMR method are suggested
based on the results of numerical calculations and computer simulation.
