The goal of the paper is bringing up a theoretical research about creation of personal image and its meaning in communication. The view of modern characteristics and prospects for personal imaging is presented by two specialists belonging to different fields- philosophy and material sciences. Human being as a social creature reflects the epoch he belongs to. Evidently personal image and style, as well as behaviour model are being effected by such fundamental social processes like globalization, democratization, urbanization, migration etc, especially much influence have rapid development of technologies and science progress. Dress is a social and material element of culture. At present dress has expressed democratic tendencies- it becomes simpler, more functional, even in formal milieu less regulated, for example, nowadays casual style and street fashion mostly are considered acceptable for business communication. Crucial point in dress evolution is development and application of smart and intellectual textiles. The main purpose of smart textiles is improvement of human adaptation to the environment. Intellectual textiles are defined by such properties like colour and shape changing, improved thermoregulation, conductivity etc. The authors of the paper conclude that social attitude to such innovative textiles and garments still is hardly forecasted, but obviously young generation is accepting the innovations more likely than older people.
