The Aspects of Continuing Education in the Improvement of Competence of the Sports Specialists

In the article the issues of continuing education and educational aspects of uninterrupted and continuous development of sports specialists have been characterized. The sports pedagogue qualification requirements included in the Standard, as well as sports specialists competences have been analysed. In the form of the diagram the model of competence education, with a wide range of skills necessary for performing professional activity has been display. In the present article the results of an empirical study (191 sports specialists have participated) have been used for data processing . The author has evaluated sports specialists’ visions about participation in educational activities of continuing education, carrying out cross-correlation analysis. The study results have shown that there is a correlation between sports professionals' views on continuing education, in which creative competences are developed and factors, motivating the continuing education (rs = -. 18, p <.05); acquired knowledge, which raises self-esteem and enhances enterprise (rs =. 24, p <.05); the promotion of understanding and the formation of personal attitude (rs = .37, p <.0.1); physical and mental development (rs = -. 25, p <.05); systematizing of the value system, development of (rs = .44, p <.01) and the length of service of the specialist (rs = .46, p <.01). There exists correlation between the sports specialists’ views on improved physical and mental development and creative competences, developed in continuing education (rs = .31, p <.01), successful integration into international activities (rs = .30, p <.01). Sports specialists’ participation in the process of continuing education improves their professional competences, as well as develops and systematizes the value system.
