Finding Requirements for Ballasts of Colored LED Matrices

This paper describes principles of determination of requirements of ballasts for high brightness colored LED matrices. Two different output power methods are examined and compared in this paper: the most popular constant current pulse width modulation technique and constant current regulation method. The method of finding the proportion for necessary number of each color LEDs is described. Critical parameters for ballasts are determined.
