This paper considers the research of the situation in the energy sector, taking into account the criteria defined by the legislative acts of the air protection. The paper estimated emissions SO2, NOx and LOS in the energy sector. It uses an optimization model of energy and environment MARKAL, simulates the energy system of Latvia.
