Hologrāfisko režģu optiskā dzēšana ir eksperimentāli izpētīta neorganiskā a-As-S-Se un organiskā W-40-01 kārtiņā.Konstatēts, ka pilnīga ieraksta dzēšana optiski nebija iespējama, tomēr tā bija jo efektīvāka, jo mazāks režģa periods, jo augstāka dzēsošās gaismas intensitāte, kā arī, ja tika lietota cirkulāra gaismas polarizācija.
