EU Directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings requires that local regulations on minimum energy performance requirements has to be overseen over time in accordance with the new technologies in the market and reaching nearly zero energy consumption by 2020 thereby reducing the carbon dioxide emissions as well.
