Several tasks were achieved during this research – problems in furniture with photo- luminescent coating were described and analyzed as well some experiments were performed and some conclusions were made. Thus optimal coating characteristics were gained to underscore the photo- luminescence on wood pattern and texture. The photo- luminescent colors that are offered in market cover the unique structure of wood, so in this research colors that emphasizes the texture or at least makes it visible were looked for. For the efficiency of work, first of all some qualities as well as ingredients and their features of photo- luminescence had to be clarified, optimal concentration of pigment was identified, that makes the surface of wood with different intensity of luminescence. On the ground of experiments and conclusions made before by enterprise “Klinta” Ltd., several practical experiments on wooden surface. Using color with photoluminescent pigment in different concentrations some examples of photo-luminescent wooden surface were made. The purpose of experiments was to find the most suitable overlay for furniture. The fact that there were no real measurements to be taken as there is no methods to measure should be mentions, thus the results were diagnosed visually. The best result was gained with massive preparation of wood before coating using steal brushes or sand spurt, obtaining surface with more expressive wooden structure. This surface was painted with white ground color – on one layer not to cover the texture. Then the mixture with nitrocellulose, polyurethane or water based colors in 20-50% concentration of photoluminescent pigment is spread on the relief on two layers. At the end a layer of varnish is sprayed to protect the surface.
