The urban spatial architectonic structure in the western region of Latvia is affected by the topography and the layout of different planning elements. Open space consists of natural elements - water and green systems, which serve the function of promoting health, recreation and communication, and affect the artistic expression of the urban environment. Research goals: To determine the spatial structure of the major architectural transformation trends in the cities of the western region of Latvia, creating a positive and sustainable living, working and recreational environment, and preserving the proportion of open space and green plantings in urban areas.
