The text contains information about employee participation in enterprise capital as a motivation and productivity improving factor which is important for Latvia to overcome the crisis. The author mentions the results from surveys in other countries about employee participation in enterprise capital impact on productivity. There is also mentioned European experience and developed guidelines (Model plan) working out equivalent models in European Union and similar types of employee participation in enterprise capital, such as share-based profit-sharing, share purchase plan and stock options. The paper contains explanation of employee participation in enterprise capital and its types as well as Latvian experience and directions for improvement and development of it in legislation, taxation and information providing for the society.
