Street plantations play a major role in the urban greenery system. To achieve a high level of amenities, Liepaja, Jelgava and Ventspils at the end of the 19th century created promenades that unified street plantations into a single system. Nowadays the main roads and boulevards create the visual image of Liepaja, Jelgava and Ventspils and affect the future development of city planning in these cities.
