Multiple-Scale Analysis of Wave Propagation in Hydraulics
18th International Conference on Mathematical Modeling and Analysis (MMA2013): Book of Abstracts 2013
Andrejs Koliškins

Method of multiple scales is used in the present paper is order to describe wave propagation in a pipeline with random changes in the pipe's diameter. Amplitude evolution equation for wave propagation is derived analytically. The decrease of wave amplitude is also computed numerically. Results of numerical simulation are in good agreement with theory.
