Research work looks at vibration damping systems with variable damping force which is based on using ferromagnetic solutions. Theoretical part reviews the types of magnetic fluids and solutions, their properties, shock absorbers and sectors where damping systems with variable damping force are required. Patents about shock absorbers that use ferromagnetic solutions technology have been reviewed. The method of making magnetic field 3D map was designed. There have been practical research, which has revealed ferofluid’s properties that may be useful for real-time variable shock absorber developers
