Remote Workshop for Practical Knowledge Improvement in Electrical Engineering Education
15th International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning and 41st International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy: Proceedings 2012
Pēteris Apse-Apsītis, Ansis Avotiņš, Leonīds Ribickis

Practical workshops are one of the key points to achieve good knowledge in engineering. Faculty or campus based workshops allow to practice only several of hours per week or less due to limited workplaces. Limited possibilities set longer time to finish course, especially if the university has divisions in different cities, offering the same learning course. Possibility to gain some practical skills out of the real workshop becomes advanced part of the studies. Remote workshop, based on public networks, is an add-on tool in electrical engineering studies. Remote e-Learning workshop improves courses in such fields like electrical drives control, power electronics, LED lighting control, automatic control algorithms and regulators.
