Chess Competition with an Industrial Robot

This article describes an industrial robot application in a chess competition with a human. The article provides information on the aims, objectives and achievements. The system consists of three units – the technical vision, chess logic and robot control. Basic methods and techniques applied to the design and implementation stages, as well as the error prevention techniques and pre-match calibration procedures are described in this paper.
