The subject of the presented paper is an adjustable reactive power flow, which may be done by a conventional 3X3 matrix converter with a specific control algorithm. Possible sources of the reactive power, as well as configurations of external components are described and analyzed. Several algorithms of control of the converter are proposed. Corresponding models were built and simulation results are presented in the article.
