Realization of up to 10 Gbit/s Spectrum Sliced Optical Access System
8th International Conference "Advanced Optical Materials and Devices": Programme and Abstracts 2014
Sandis Spolītis, Ģirts Ivanovs

The growing number of Internet users and bandwidth-driven applications, such as online gaming, streaming video, telemedicine, video conferencing and others bring various challenges for network operators and force them to migrate toward new architectures. Spectrum-sliced wavelength-division-multiplexed passive optical network (SS-WDM PON) can be cost effective solution to satisfy the growing global demand for transmission capacity in next generation fiber optical access networks.

Keywords
