Station of Materials Testing of Mechanical Faculty – 90 years

On 1 February 1922, University of Latvia, Faculty of Mechanics, Department of Mechanical Technology opened a Materials testing facility. The head of the company was Professor Paul Denffer. Tasks of material testing station were performed by means of mechanical and technological testing of building materials, analysis of accidents, determining the nature and causes of fractures. The facility still operates today, providing technical assistance to the industry.
