During the first decade of Latvian University O.Lucs and G.Vanags published their boors in Latvian on organic chemistry and several practical works on analytical chemistry. During the second decade there were published “The introduction in qualitative chemical analysis” by A.Ķešāns, which was reprinted for several times, and “Agricultural analysis” (I-II volumes) in the field of quantitative chemical analysis by P.Kulitāns, K.Krūmiņš, K.Brambergs. The situation was worse in various areas of chemical technology: students had to suffice with their own written notes of lectures. The only manuals on technology in Latvian were those on nutritional science and merchandise science.
