In order to achieve sustainable development of the economy and to gain prosperity of inhabitants, there is a need for continuous process of innovation and new solutions. This process is not depending only on decisions of government, involvement of inhabitants is very important too. One of the solutions to gain prosperity is to establish a number of new and original businesses – initially they would work within the country and if they are successful, would expand their business and join international market. Indirectly this would develop countries economy – gaining personal prosperity and creating new jobs, and directly – by paying taxes. Unfortunately majority of population that is currently unemployed or is working as employees, are sunk into everyday routine or are afraid to make possible mistakes and additional difficulties, thus not wanting to start something new. Taking in account facts mentioned above, youth of schools and higher education establishments have a lot of possibilities, especially taking in account that it is possible to get additional funding to start entrepreneurship from EU structural funds. To enquire youth’s readiness and wishes to start their own business, authors of this article carried out a questionnaire involving 35 9th grade students and 30 high school students (that study economics and entrepreneurship intensively) and 200 students of university from different study programs, specialties, courses 1 to 4. The results of questionnaire will be given in this article.
