The present formative evaluation study was conducted in 2009-2011 in one of the largest tertiary education institutions of Latvia. It comprised a survey of tourism students, employers, graduates, and students of the Board of the University Students’ Council. This paper addresses the issue of evaluating the tourism curriculum and making improvements in order to create a curriculum that would enable the development of knowledgeable, innovative, creative specialists who are pro-active leaders and are able to efficiently manage their own and other employees’ work and can successfully operate in the century of innovation.
