Sergejs Olonkins, Vjačeslavs Bobrovs

Due to the variety of potential applications parametric amplification is positioned as the future leading technique for ultrafast all-optical signal processing in optical communication systems. Additionally to optical signal amplification, fiber optical parametric amplifiers (FOPAs) also offer a number of applications for all-optical signal processing. In this paper the authors demonstrate the ability of a single-pump FOPA to distinguish two polarization multiplexed signals, and focus their attention on the power penalty of the proposed solution.
