Abstract In this paper authors propose a method of bone structure 3D visualization is proposed, which is based on medical images and can separately visualize the cortical and trabecular bone. To visualize the bone structure, the cortical and trabecular bones are first extracted from the medical images using fully automatic image processing methods. The proposed method could be used when analyzing the medical images of patients with osteoporosis, where it is necessary to analyze changes in the microstructure of the bone.
