The aim of the article is to analyze the role of public administrations’ social capital in the process of cross-sectoral policy coordination, as well as to propose solutions to improve the process of cross-sectoral policy coordination. The novelty of the article is the focus on the social capital in policy coordination process. We suggest that informal networks and the willingness to cooperate play an even more important role in cross-sectoral policy coordination than the formal procedures. We advise to strengthen the cross-sectoral policy coordination in domains especially important for the state development, as well as to improve administrative culture by establishing cooperation networks among ministries and by popularizing values that promote serving the collective interests of the government.
