An Insight into the Evolution of Direct Current Systems

This paper summarizes the sequential events related to the development of electric supply industry. Direct Current has had its significance from the early applications of electricity until nowadays. However, historically Direct Current technologies had fallen into disuse as Alternating Current technologies took the advantage upon them. This article aims to emphasize the advantages and latest applications of Direct Current technologies by underlining the benefits of Low Voltage Direct Current transmission.
