Sugar amino acids (SAAs) represent structurally diverse class of compounds that can be used in foldamer synthesis and as multifunctional monomeric building blocks for drug design. Oligomers of such monosaccharide hybrid molecules frequently adopt secondary structures in relatively short sequences.
