Main question during centuries and modern days as region as national and international level as well were long-term economic development of large-scale residential areas. General factor were inhabitants or society participation and cooperation in the point of economy and social. In view of the importance of this issue, not only at the city level, but also at the national and international level. The study is to determine the need for large-scale residential district of Riga city economic importance of sustainability in development. Scientific research objects - Imants, Ķengarags, Pļavnieki, Purvciems and Ziepniekkalns. Keywords: City's economy, long-term, large-scale residential development, Riga.
