Agent System Application as a Tool for Inventory Management Improvement

This paper presents one of the supply chain tasks – inventory management. Effective inventory management includes ABC classification, demand forecasting techniques and replenishment policies. Firstly, the analysis of assembling company’s inventory management existing situation is presented, and then inventory management improvement is proposed. We consider that agent system can be an effective tool for inventory management, and our system can be fully autonomous or as decision support system, when inventory manager according to agent calculation results makes the global decision on assembling scheduling.
