Despite aseptic and antiseptic techniques, the microorganism’s ability to infect and colonize the implanted biomaterial or some other medical device is still serves as a risk factor in the development of nosocomial infections. So all the studies that determine one of the most important properties of biomaterials - the microbial contamination risk become more popular.
