The rapid growth of the petrochemical industry led to frequent various accidents resulting in oil spills. Different sorbents are used to isolate and collect oil. The main problem of using the oil sorbent is collecting them from the surface of the water and the land. The distinctive advantage of proposed sorbent Comsor, developed in Latvia, is its improved floatation and enhanced magnetic properties.
