Evaluation of Effective Area of Ytterbium Doped Optical Fiber

The usage of ytterbium doped fibers is one of the most attractive solutions to increase an output power of optical amplifiers as it ensures low non-linearity, without affecting the amplification efficiency. Based on experimental results the fiber effective area Aeff has been calculated for different length of ytterbium doped fibers.
