For compacting powdered materials it can be used a variety of methods that combine static and dynamic seals, vibration and shock-wave technology. Great interest for a long time is the use of pulsed sources of energy (explosion, an electromagnetic field, an electrical discharge, the impact energy of the accelerated solid). The greatest success attained of shock compaction technology of pre-sintered powder preforms. The disadvantage of the method in a multistage process and its labor intensity. Methods of explosive compaction of powder materials allow to obtain a high density preform, but they are not intended for use in a production environment, because they are quite difficult to maintain and operate, as well as environmentally harmful.
