River or in-stream hydrokinetic technologies is a relatively
new way and of power generation which develops rapidly.
To guide this development into right direction and
implement the technologies efficiently estimates for the
available and technically recoverable hydrokinetic energy
in the rivers. Methods for such estimations also in
development. This work surveys some specifics of the
evaluation methods, compares them and concludes on the
specifics of hydrokinetic power estimation. Suggestions
based on the survey and authors own experience with
development and work with hydrokinetic power
estimation methods are given.
