Different polyester polyols from tall oil, rapeseed oil and PET were obtained and their properties were evaluated for appliance in rigid polyurethane foam production. The potential use of these natural oils as raw materials combined with PET to synthesize polyols with good compatibility with hydrofluorocarbon type blowing agent was confirmed. The results indicated that synthesized polyols can be successfully used to prepare rigid polyurethane foams suitable for thermal insulation appliance.
