There was analyzed the AE signal of the intake valve with the crack closing and AE signal from burned out exhaust valve. Taking into our previous study “Mathematical modeling on the acoustic emission signals in case of gas leakage in engine cylinder head” this paper contain a calculation of subsonic turbulent gas flow in channel (defect) with the aim to establish a minimum aperture at which the AE signal perceptible
