Porous Devonian clay ceramic by additive of saw dust and glycerol at the raw clay and sintered at 800 and 900ºC temperatures were investigated. The surface of sintered ceramic was activated by irradiation with accelerated electrons or by coating with nanoparticles of ZnO. Coating of ZnO was improved at temperature 800ºC. The pore structure of obtained materials was determined by mercury porosimetry. The sorption ability concerning to acetic acid was determined as chemical oxygen demand (COD) by use of K2Cr2O7 method. Photocatalytic activity of coated ceramic was investigated concerning to irradiation with visible LED light. Porosity and surface area of ceramic by additive of glycerol were influenced. The sorption ability of ceramics by additive of glycerol was increased. Sorption ability of acetic acid was increased after irradiation of ceramic with accelerated electrons. Photocatalytic activity of coated ceramic depends on the sintering temperature and use of additive also.
