Process modelling is important part of optimizing manufacturing processes. In this work effective diffusion coefficient Def determination method is specified for usage in MATLAB. Necessary experimental data for Def coefficient determination are obtained by drying peat and aluminum oxide in convective dryer. Drying kinetics model used for calculations in falling rate period is based on second Fick’s law. In this work determined effective diffusion coefficients: 1.01·10-6 m2·s-1 for peat and 0.69·10-6 m2·s-1 for aluminum oxide at 55oC temperature
