These days, information about the history of Liepaja as a health resort town is extremely difficult to find. The reason for this is the policy - the emergence, formation and flourishing seaside resort Libava occur in an era when Latvia was part of the Russian empire. Libava has been a resort for Russian aristocrats and wealthy people of the Russian provinces. This resort has been built thanks to the Baltic Germans, and their entrepreneurial talents and implemented their ideas Latvian craftsmen and gardeners. The article Liepaja architect Silvia Ozola written for publication in one of Moscow's scientific proceedings. The article deals with two topics: the resorts location features in the Baltic cities of the Russian Empire as compared to the resorts in Prussia, and the history of the resort directly in Libava. At this time we are only information about the history of Liepaja resort. The modern name of Liepaja won only in 1918, until the official Russian name of the city was Libava. We decided to stick with the name that is relevant to the time of the events described.
